PURPOSE: To realize the liquid crystal display device which can execute quickly and surely a correction of a luminescent point defect and can improve reliability of the correction, and its luminescent point defect correcting method. ;CONSTITUTION: In a liquid crystal panel 1 in which a liquid crystal layer 4 is enclosed between glass substrates 2, 5 which are opposed and placed, a glass substrate 16 on which a photograph negative film 17 is stuck to the outside surface is provided on the outside surface of a deflecting plate 15 positioned on the emitting side of an illuminating light 11 radiated from the back side of the liquid crystal panel 1. In a state that this liquid crystal panel 1 is incorporated into an illuminating optical system, a regular driving voltage is applied to the liquid crystal panel 1, and a normal picture element 20 is set to a light shielding state. Subsequently, by irradiating the liquid crystal panel 1 in such a state with the illuminating light 11, the part corresponding to a luminescent point picture element 209a of the photograph negative film 17 is exposed.
