PURPOSE:To provide a document processor capable of detecting a double word error and a capital letter word error at the time of specifying one word to be the object of a spelling check and performing the spelling check for the word. CONSTITUTION:This document processor is provided with a CPU 1 for performing arithmetic operations and logic judgement, etc., for various processings or the like based on a control program stored in a ROM 2. In the ROM 2, the control program for the various kinds of the processings and a spelling dictionary are stored. The control program is provided with a spelling check program, a double word error detection program, a capital letter error detection error program, a spelling collection program and a spelling scanning program. In the spelling check program, after performing the spelling check for the word positioned right in front of the specified word, the spelling check for the specified word is performed.
