PIEZOELECTRIC BUZZER SUPPORTING STRUCTURE FOR IC CARD

PURPOSE: To prevent the damage to a piezoelectric buzzer by providing a recess for containing the buzzer on a card base, and softly supporting the buzzer in the piezoelectric buzzer supporting structure for an IC card having the buzzer. CONSTITUTION: A recess 1a for containing a piezoelectric buzzer is formed on an IC card base 1, and the buzzer formed of a diaphragm 2 and a piezoelectric element 3 is adhered to the outer periphery of the diaphragm 2 made of a thin metal with adhesive 4. The adhesive 4 which can be sufficiently fixed to the base but not be rigidly fixed is used. An electrode is formed on the lower surface of the element 3, the diaphragm 2 is adhered to the upper surface, and the diaphragm 2 is used also as the role of the electrode. A jumper wire 5 for connecting a circuit board 6 to the buzzer is so disposed between the buzzer and cover sheets 7, 8 as to be substantially longitudinally crossed at the recess 1a. Thus, the damage of the buzzer of the card and the deformations of the sheets 7, 8 can be effectively prevented.
