PURPOSE:To provide the catheter with a thoracic cavity balloon which can prevent the generation of the deviation of the mediastinal septum and the hyperexpansion of the residual lung of the opposite side in a lale stage after an operation by the generation of the oscillation of the mediastinal septum including the heart and the large blood vessel system in an early stage after the operation and can prevent the bleeding of blood, etc., after the operation. CONSTITUTION:On the front end side of a catheter tube body 11, this catheter has the balloon 12 which is inserted into the thoracic cavity 1 after the total extirpation of the single lung and inflates to about the size of the single lung in the early stage after the operation to suppress the movement of the mediastinal septum including the heart and the large blood vessel system to the extirpated heart side.
