DEFORMED REED AND METHOD FOR WEAVING NARROW WOVEN FABRIC WITH DEFORMED REED

PURPOSE: To obtain the deformed reed for a narrow loom capable of weaving at a high speed a narrow woven fabric uniform in the selvages of both the sides, not showing the shortage in the strength and having changes in the woven width, and to provide a method for weaving the same with the deformed reed. ;CONSTITUTION: A deformed reed having dents 2 arranged in such a tapered state that one of the upper and lower ends is high in density and the other is low is used for weaving the narrow woven fabric having changes in the woven width by the use of a narrow loom equipped with a weft-inserting arm and an entangling needle mechanism. The deformed reed is formed in a half-tapered shape in which the dents only on the latter other side are widened in the tapered state by arranging the dent 2₁ on the former one side of the dents 2 arranged in parallel to the side part 1A of the reed frame 1 disposed along a moving direction X on the change of the weaving width and further by arranging the other dents so that the inclinations of the dents 2 on the latter other side are successively increased from the dent 2₁ on the former one side toward the dents on the latter other side. A space for the insertion of an auxiliary weft bar is disposed between the dent 2₁ on the former one side and the side part 1A of the reed frame 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
