SIDE SPLASH GUARD FITTING STRUCTURE FOR AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE: To prevent the fall of a resin nut at the time of side splash guard fitting work by providing a rib at the face, opposed to a side body outer panel, of the lower side tip part of the side splash guard fitted to the lower side of the side body outer panel of an automobile. ;CONSTITUTION: A bracket 3 is welded to the lower side of a side body outer panel (hereinafter referred to as panel) 1 with a side splash guard (hereinafter referred to as guard) 2 mounted to the lower side, and a resin nut 6 is mounted on the lower side. In this case, the tip part of the guard 2 is protrusively provided with a rib 10 positioned on both sides of a threaded hole 9, at the face opposed to the panel 1. Since the tip part of the guard 2 is formed into the warping slant face 11 and also the rib 11 is formed, the tip of the guard 2 is prevented from coming in contact with the panel 1, and in its turn the tip of the guard 2 is prevented from being caught by the resin nut 6 at the time of fitting the guard 2 so as to prevent the fall of the resin nut at the time of mounting the guard 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
