PURPOSE: To obtain a surface blackened solder wire in short heating time by previously providing the surface of a solder wire with a metallic layer which is blackened by sulfiding and exposing the surface to an S-contg. gas or liquid. ;CONSTITUTION: The surface of the solder wire for joining metals is provided with the metallic layer of Cu or Ag or the like which is blackened when sulfided. Such solder wire is exposed into the gas contg. S; for example, hydrogen sulfide, by which the black sulfide layer is formed on the surface. The surface may be otherwise exposed into the liquid, powder or fluid contg. the S. The metallic layer is formed by plating, applying, sputtering, etc. The thickness of the sulfide layer to be formed on the surface of the solder wire is adequately about 0.01 to 3μm. As a result, the heating time at the time of heating the solder wire by using a laser beam is shortened and the rapid soldering is made possible.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
