PURPOSE: To provide the vibration-damping-effect measuring apparatus of a mass damper-based vibration-damping device. ;CONSTITUTION: A vibration-damping-effect measuring apparatus is composed of an accelerometer 3 which is installed at a mass 2 for a mass damper-based vibration-damping device and which measures a mass acceleration ai of a speed sensor 4 which is installed at a structure 1 and which measures the vibration velocity vi of the structure and of an arithmetic part 5 to which respective measured values of the accelerometer 3 and the speed sensor 4 are input. A mass ratio μ, the cycle T of a building, an evaluation time factor (n) and a sampling time Δt as constant values are input respectively to the arithmetic part 5, and an attenuation constant hk which is changed evenry moment is found in real time by a calculation expression on the basis of the measured value ai from the accelerometer 3 and on the basis of the measured value vi from the speed sensor 4. Thereby, a vibration-damping effect in the usage state of the mass damper-based vibration-damping device is output every moment in the form of the attenuation constant hk, and the vibration-damping effect can be grasped and confirmed genuinely in real time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
