ROLLING METHOD FOR PREVENTING SURFACE DEFECT OF CU-CONTAINING SLAB

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of surface defects of hot rolled products of a Cu-contg. slab contg. only Cu or further Sn. ;CONSTITUTION: Before rolling and after heating the Cu-contg. slab contg. ≥0.08% Cu or further Sn, scale on the surface of slab generated by heating and an enriched layer of Cu or Cu and Sn just under the scale is removed. This removal is executed simultaneously with rolling by jetting high-pressure water on the surface of slab so as to satisfy PV/H²≥800 (P: water pressure (kg/cm²), H: distance from the tip of nozzle to the slab (cm), V: rate of flow of water (l/min)).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
