PURPOSE: To provide the subject new compound exhibiting high efficiency for controlling specific acarids and insects in the fields of agriculture, man and animal breeding. ;CONSTITUTION: A pyridazinone compound of formula I [X is a halogen, a 1-4C alkyl; Z is a (halogen, 1-3C alkyl or haloalkyl-substituted) 1-3C alkylene; R is a halogen, a 1-6C alkyl, an alkoxy, a 2-7C alkoxyalkyl, an alkylthioalkyl or the like]. For example, 2-t-butyl-4-chloro-5-[4-t-butylcyclohexyl)methylthio-3-(2 H)-pyridazinone. The compound of the formula I is obtained by allowing a pyridazinone of formula II (X" is Cl, Br, I, SH) to react with a compound of the formula: R-Z-X' (X' is the same as X", wherein one of X' and X" is SH, and the other is Cl, Br, I) in the presence of an inorganic or organic base in an organic solvent at a temperature from a room temperature to the boiling point of the reaction mixture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
