Invention refers to the production of cellulose materials and can be used in the chemical industry for the production of composites and sorbents containing cellulose, and in the pharmaceutical industry for the production of pills, unguents and powders.The task of the invention is to increase the chemical pureness of microcrystalline cellulose and homogeneity of its granulometric composition, as well as decreasing costs of the process. The task is solved by using 0.04-0.10 % HCl solution in the water in the well known method - impregnation of cellulose with catalyst solution, pressing, thermal treatment up to a dry condition and reducing it to small pieces - but the thermal treatment is done at temperatures of 110-130 degrees C. In case it is needed to reach a higher degree of whiteness, the microcrystalline cellulose is bleached after reducing it to small pieces .
