it describes a new therapeutic use of l - carnitine.the carnitine acyl - and their salts pharmacologically acceptable in the treatment of immunological disorders and metabolic pathways in patients with aids and related syndromes and asymptomatic patients hiv - seropositive.for such use.the amount of l - carnitine administration is approximately 6 to 8 grams per day (oral) or an equivalent amount of acyl l - carnitine or its pharmacologically acceptable salt.three - four times the dose normally used for the therapeutic uses already known of l - carnitine.
