A device for pressurising a vehicle and protecting against sudden pressure changes, especially when crossing tunnels communicating with the outside of the vehicle through inlet 2 and vent 3 openings for the air and with the inside of the vehicle through forward 4 and return 5 openings for the air. The device comprises a first and a second shutter 7, 8, placed respectively upstream and downstream from a conduit 9 in which is installed a fan 10. The two shutters 7, 8, placed at the junction of intake 11, 12 and delivery 13, 14 conduits communicating respectively with the outside and the inside of the vehicle are arranged, upon indication from electronic control means 23, 24, 25 signalling the sudden changes in outside pressure as compared to inside pressure, so as to make more air be vented to the outside or admit more air from the outside when excess outside pressure or reduced outside pressure exists, respectively. In this way, there is compensation for the air transfers occurring in the vehicle concomitantly with the sudden changes in outside pressure by virtue of the imperfect seal of the housing and the accessories applied to it.
