APPARATUS FOR CUTTING SEVERING OF A THIN BOARD FROM SQUARED TIMBER

In an apparatus for cutting severing of a thin board (22)from squared timber (6) which is moved on a guide surface(4) against the cutting edge (16) of a blade (14) theadjustment of the distance between the guide surface (4)and the plane (24) parallel thereto extending through theblade cutting edge (16), and thus the adjustment of theapparatus to different board thicknesses to be produced,is effected by relative adjustment of the blade cuttingedge (16) to the guide surface (4) in an inclined plane(36) which forms an acute adjustment angle (.alpha.) to anormal (32) to the guide surface.With this arrangement, with a changed board thicknessadjustment of the apparatus the distance between theblade cutting edge (16) and a counter pressing edge (30)in the cutting direction is automatically adapted.Furthermore, in a preferred embodiment with thisadjustment the width of the exit guide channel (betweenthe surfaces 26 and 50) for the separated board (22) canbe simultaneously set to the new thickness.
