Railway transhipment system and transport container transhipping process

A transport container transhipping system for railways has at least one railway track (1) for transporting both trucks and railway wagons, hereafter called containers (8), a stationary revolving transhipping crane (2) and a traffic lane (3) for trucks (4) or a second railway track (9). Also disclosed is a container transhipping process. The system may be operated in a profitable manner without disconnecting the contact wire from the supply network even when the number of transhipped containers is small, because it has a simple structure, a traffic lane (3) between transhipping crane (2) and the first railway tack or a second railway track (9) arranged next to the crane (2) with a lifting height limited by a safe distance (f) to the contact wire.
