a VPI/VCI separating means of an inputted cell from a client; a VPI/VCI detecting means for receiving a VPI value and a VCI value separated from the VPI/VCI separating means and outputting a registration identification of the related VPI/VCI value and a place of a header converting information in a VC header converting table; a VC header converting table for outputting a VPI/VCI routing information of a related channel by using the output of the VPI/VCI detecting means; a VPI detecting means for receiving a VPI value outputted from the VPI/VCI separating means , outputting a place value existing in the header converting information of related virtual path when the value is processed by a VP unit; a VP header converting table having a VPI and routing information enough to have a set up number corresponding to the Virtual Paths processed to the VP unit; a header information selection means for inputting and transferring the output of the VC header converting table when a VC registration signal outputted from the VPI/VCI detecting menas registers in the VPI/VCO detecting means and selectively outputting and transferring the output of the VP header converting table when not registering the VPI/VCI detecting means; a VCI latch for storing the VCI value according to a VPI/VCO effective signal outputted from the VPI/VCI separating means; a header-replacing means for outputting and appending the VPI/VCI separated cell outputted from the VPI/VCI separating means into a ATM switch.
