FIELD: continuous casting processes. SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding to mold basic metal strips in solid state, feeding to mold melt metal of cladding layer, connecting it with basic metal strip, drawing bimetallic strip from mold and reducing it; approaching crystallized skin of cladding layer and basic metal strip up to their mutual contact and reducing bimetallic ingot simultaneously with its motion along casting direction with use of movable shaped walls of dismountable mold, performing bimetallic strip drawing with rate V = K2•H/σ2, where K - crystallization factor, s - thickness of skin of cladding layer at output of one-piece mold, H - height of melt of cladding metal in one-piece mold. Approaching crystallized skin of cladding layer to basic metal strip provided by movable shaped walls of dismountable mold allows to receive gap sufficient for reliable feed of liquid metal between walls of the mold and strip itself and to obtain predetermined comparatively small thickness of cladding layer. Reduction of bimetallic ingot by shaped walls of dismountable mold (forging by strikers) in narrow temperature range provides for reliable welding of layers and fine-grain uniform structure of cladding metal layer.
