FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, plastic working of metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves subjecting basic flat blank with constant wall thickness to molding by resilient punch and rigid die to obtain radial corrugations positioned in symmetry or at an angle with respect to blank center and widening in the direction of peripheral edge; positioning produced corrugated blank on mandrel 1 and pressing blank central portion by pressure member 2; driving mandrel 1; effectuating rotational stretching of cone-shaped part by pressing roller 3 and simultaneously pressing back corrugations positioned circumferentially of blank by end surface of movable sleeve 4 and side surface of roller 3. Apparatus has mandrel 1, pressure member 2 and pressing roller 3. Sleeve 4 mounted for axial displacement on mandrel 1 is connected through stems with hydraulic cylinders 5 (or compression springs) fixed on mandrel flange. Pressing roller 3 is formed as truncated cone. Axis of pressing roller 3 is offset with respect to mandrel axis of rotation. During terminating period of rotational stretching process end surface of sleeve 4 and working surface of mandrel are conjugated.
