Asbestos conversion to non-hazardous form in builders waste or in-situ

The conversion process is for the disposal of hazardous fibrous solids, esp. old building materials contg. insulating materials, sprayed plaster and other fibrous matter based on asbestos fibres or hazardous artificial mineral fibres and for in-situ treatment of accessible asbestos cement prods. Treatment involves chemical conversion of the fibres with complex reaction F cpds. by fluoridolysis and/or by complex formation with uronium fluoro-metallates and combinations of these cpds. with binders and/or carriers. The surface is treated with a formulation contg. water at 0-80 deg C, pref. room temp.. Also claimed is the reaction prod. formed by chemical-morphological conversion from asbestos and uronium fluoro-metallates, which protects the restored building.
