Prodn. of an environmentally-compatible intermediate prod. from asbestos cement prods. (I) as sec. raw material for the cement industry by thermal/mechanical conversion and utilisation of this fibre-binder combination. (I) consisting of mechanically crushed lumps of recycled waste asbestos cement-binder building material, is partly converted to inert form by impregnation and encapsulation with high mol. hydrocarbons (II) of the C19H40 to C53H108 series, pref. with addn. of oil-soluble surfactant (III) and/or adhesion-improving epoxide resin (IV).
