The ratio of the mixt. of fuel and water is so modulated that the initiated combustion is maintained and successively a further pressure rise is obviated. Also the pressure level is maintained constant during a specific time. In a following third stage until the end of injection exclusively fuel is injected. The water can contain an emulsion of water and fuel but is pref. just of water.
