A flexible paper tube, in particular a one-way saliva suction unit for use in dentistry, consists of two tubular sections joined together by a concertina section. It is characterized by the fact that the paper tube (2, 6) consists of several layers, in particular 3 - 15 and preferably 4 to 10 layers, of paper, each layer having a thickness of 0.07 - 0.35 mm and preferably 0.1 - 0.2 mm, the thickness of the tube wall being 0.2 - 2.5 mm and preferably 0.5 - 1.0 mm. The fluting and folding of the concertina section is done preferably before the glued paper layers set. In the paper tube (2, 6) according to the present invention, the bending of the concertina section prevents any restriction in the passage in the tube.
