Visibility banner deployment system for towed airborne target

The deployment system is used to delay the deployment of the banner at the rear of a towed target, used to increase its visibility, for preventing it becoming entangled with the tow line. Pref. a delay stage is used to provide a delay of about 22 sec before the restraint for securing the banner is released, after operation of the squib switch, with a detonation current of greater than 1A, a detonation duration of greater than 100 ms and a detonation resistance of greater than 1 Ohm. The accuracy of the time base is within 1% with a working temp. range of between -20 and +70 deg.C.
