Station for the automatic digitalization of slides, comprising a slide supply unit (2), an input and digitalization station (D) and a reception unit (2') for the digitalized slides. Each supply (2) and reception (2') unit has a drawer (6) containing a removable magazine (11) which may be rotationally driven about a vertical axis and having at least one removable element (12) for storing the slides. Transfer systems (14, 21) provide for, on the one hand, the slide supply from a storage element (12) of the removable magazine (11), to a central rotating tray (15) which arranges successively the slides in front of different working stations including the input and digitalization station (D), and on the other hand, the transfer of slides, after digitalization, between the central rotary tray (15) and a storage element (12) of a removable magazine (11) provided in the reception unit (2'). The slides supply unit (2) and the reception unit (2') may be combined.
