The battery attachment device raises and lowers the battery pack (3) for the electric vehicle (1) by a trolley which is provided with air cushions and a pneumatic jack. The air cushions allow a small amount of lateral movement during raising, when the rollers (9) in the channels (10) act as guides. The battery pack is carried on four hot rolled plate steel hooks (4) of high elastic strength and is raised until its upper rim (14) contacts the lower surface (13) of the chassis. Rectangular pins (11) are then slid by a handle (15) along a groove (12b) and under the hook (4) and the trolley lowered and removed.
