Reactive composition and process for the purification of a gas containing nitric oxide

Reactive solid powder composition for the purification of a nitric oxide containing gas. The composition comprises a mixture consisting of at least one solid peroxidized compound and at least one alkaline metal salt chosen from the alkaline metal carbonates, the alkaline metal bicarbonates and alkaline metal carbonate and alkaline metal bicarbonate solid solutions. The invention also concerns a method for cleaning nitric oxide containing gas, where a composition such as that defined above is injected into the gas which is then subjected to a dedusting stage.
