PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject essence useful cultured fish in gathering fish, promoting feed intake, etc., while preventing volatilization and change in quality, by concentrating an active ingredient extracted with water by a reverse osmosis membrane, etc. SOLUTION: Dried chrysalises of silkworm are extracted with water (preferably extraction with water or enzymatic hydrolysis extraction) to give an active ingredient, which is concentrated by a reverse osmosis process without concentration under reduced pressure. Volatilization and change in qualities by heating of components of the active ingredient of the essence having a low molecular weight, amino acids and seasoning components can be prevented in a stage of the concentration.
