PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pretreating method capable of easily peeling black skin scales adhered to the surfaces of extracted discontinuous and shapeless bar- shaped inspection sample pieces in pretreatment to flaw inspection for hot rolled bar steels, wire rods or the like and to provide a holder device therefor. ;SOLUTION: This is a method for pretreating the flow inspection samples of bar steels and wire rods in which electric current having 50 to 200A/dm² current density is energized, the distance between sample wire rods and the electrode is regulated to 50 to 100mm, a sample holder is provided with magnets holding the sample wire rods and a guiding mechanism arranging the bar-shaped sample wire rods uniformly in a certain direction, they are allowed to stand in a row without being fallen from the holder by the holding by the adsorption of the magnets, thereafter, they are subjected to mechanical clamping and electrolytic pickling treatment.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
