PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cushioning and packing material capable of replacing with styrene foam and mild to environment by kneading a specific pulp mold material with water content, packing the kneaded material into a forming mold, pressurizing the material and molding the material under specific conditions. ;SOLUTION: A pulp mold material 1 containing pulp 2 as a main material, a starch based binder 3 and a thermally expandable hollow particles [preferably in an addition amount of 2-5wt.%] is kneaded with preferably 20-80wt.% water content for gelatinizing the starch-based binder 3 and the kneaded pulp molding material 1 is packed into a forming mold and pressurized and the pressurized pulp molding material 1 is heated to a temperature at which the starch binder 3 is gelatinized or above, e.g. the starch binder 3 is gelatinized by steam having 1-1.5atm. pressure for ≥20sec. Thereby, the starch binder 3 is gelatinized to form the objective pulp mold body.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
