PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a hot rolled steel plate remarkably improved in resistance to the cracks attributable to material, actualized by thickness reduction, and applicable to a cold rolled steel sheet for a two-piece can. ;SOLUTION: A steel, which has a composition containing, by weight, 0.03-0.06% C, ≤0.03% Si, 0.3-1.0% Mn, ≤0.02% P, ≤0.02% S, 0.02-0.1% sol.Al, 0.0010-0.0040% N, and ≤0.0025% total O and satisfying S/10+O≤0.0035%, is refined and cast continuously under the conditions that the F value and the slab thickness (t) satisfy 0.022t-2.7≤F≤0.022t-1.3 and the F value and the viscosity value (η) of mold powder satisfy 0.169η+1.45≤F≤0.169η+3.05. The resultant cast slab is hot-rolled while regulating the total reduction ratio, represented by (slab thickness)/(hot rolling finishing thickness), to ≥125. By this method, the hot rolled steel plate, applicable to a cold rolled steel sheet for two-piece can, can be obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
