PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter belt for a belt press dehydrator which is suitable for executing in use under high tension for dehydration of sludge of waste water of paper manufacturing. SOLUTION: In a filter belt for a belt press dehydrator in which a plane belt is prepd. by inserting a core line 7 into a common hole formed by making coils 6 prepd. by spirally winding a synthetic resin monofilament intermesh in parallel, the monofilament for forming the spiral coil 6 has a round crosssection with a diameter of 0.2-1.2mm or a flat crosssection with a ratio of the width to the thickness of 1.1:1-2.5:1 and the width of 0.3-1.3mm. The core line 7 is a monofilament with a round crosssection with a diameter of 0.5-1.5mm. In addition, a polyurethane hot melt resin is applied on both end selvage parts of the filter belt as a reinforcing resin and it is cured integrally with the spiral coil 6.
