PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise of a motor for a vacuum cleaner, purify exhaust gases and allow to work the cleaner more easily by driving wheels of the vacuum cleaner by a human motion, where this motion is transferred by a speed- increasing gear to a fan to rotate it at a high speed. ;SOLUTION: A rear wheel 11 is attached on a rear bottom of a vacuum cleaner, and an input gear is fixed coaxially with the rear wheel 11, to run a free wheel engaged with the rear wheel 11 in one direction and to transfer the tongue generated to a speed-increasing gear 12. The speed-increasing gear 12, on receiving the torque at the lower-speed end from the free wheel 11, outputs it from the higher-speed end, to drive a fan 13 at a high speed by a bevel gear. A gear 8 provided coaxially with a front wheel 7 drives a rotary brush 5 via gears 9 and 4, to remove dust from the surface it contacts. The fan 13 induces dust with air form a suction port 6 by the rotary brush 5 into a filter 10, and exhausts air from an exhaust port 14, leaving behind dust in a dust-collecting case 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
