PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass wool heat insulating material having good executability from a high-density glass wool block by vertically and horizontally applying notches to the lower face of glass wool block bonded by a binder, passing glass wool through a garnet type defibrating roller and further defibrating the wool by a rotary blade type auxiliary defibrizer. ;SOLUTION: Notches are vertically and horizontally applied to the lower face of a glass wool block 43 bonded by a binder by a garnet type main defiberizer 13. The glass wool block 43 is defibrated into small masses by a garnet type defibrating roller 8 and the remainder of defiberated wool which does not pass through a fractional screen 11 is further defibrated by a rotary blade type auxiliary defibrizer 14.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
