PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber magnetic sensor using an amorphous magnetostrictive material capable of warping an optical fiber in the axial direction without bending the optical fiber. ;SOLUTION: Layered amorphous magnetostrictive materials A1i, A1o, A2i, A2o obtained by overlapping and bonding amorphous magnetostrictive materials are bonded to hold a first fiber-optic coil A. Similarly, layered amorphous magnetostrictive materials B1i, B1o, B2i, B2o obtained by overlapping and bonding amorphous magnetostrictive materials are bonded to hold a second fiber-optic coil B. Moreover, the first and second fiber-optic coils A and B are arranged in parallel, and permanent magnets 11a, 11b are disposed between the layered amorphous magnetostrictive materials A1i, A1o and the layered amorphous magnetostrictive materials B1i, B1o. Likewise, permanent magnets 12a, 12b are arranged between the layered amorphous magnetostrictive materials A2i, A2o and the layered amorphous magnetostrictive materials B2i, B2o.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
