PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the camcorder capable of preventing failed video recording due to an exhausting battery on the way of video recording by inhibiting timer reservation for a prescribed time or over when a battery is employed for the power supply. ;SOLUTION: A power supply circuit 3 discriminates whether a power supply at present employs an AC adaptor 1 or a battery 2 and gives a discrimination signal 4 to a system controller 5. In the case of receiving power supply from the AC adaptor 1, a timer reservation from a reservation input device 12 is accepted. In the case of receiving power from the battery 2, the controller 5 accepts video recording reservation when the time of video recording is within a TV video recording available time by the battery but inhibits the time exceeds the available time. Furthermore, in the case of reservation video recording, a control signal 9 is used to activate a TV tuner 6, a signal processing circuit 7, a recorder 8 but a liquid crystal display device 10 and a back light inverter 11 are inactive to reduce the power consumption at reservation video recording thereby extending the battery duration time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
