SILICA FILLED RUBBER COMPOSITION CONTAINING MIXTURE OF DITHIODIPROPIONIC ACID, TRITHIODIPROPIONIC ACID AND TETRATHIODIPROPIONIC ACID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silica filed rubber composition aiming at the improvement of physical properties thereof. ;SOLUTION: This method for improving the physical properties of a silica filled rubber composition is to blend (I) at least one kind of sulfur-vulcanizable elastomer selected from among a conjugated diene homopolymer and copolymer thereof, a natural rubber, and a copolymer of at least one kind of conjugated diene with an aromatic vinyl compound, (II) 10-250 PHR silica and (III) 0.05-10 PHR mixture of dithiodipropionic acid, trithiodipropionic acid and tetrathiodipropionic acid. The addition of the mixture of di-, tri- and tetra- thiodipropionic acids to the silica reinforced sulfur-vulcanizable rubber improves the characteristics of the vulcanized material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
