PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the symmetry of inputted graphics and to shape the graphics so that they become axial symmetry graphics with respect to the whole arbitrary number of symmetry axes. ;SOLUTION: A symmetry judgment means 23 judges the symmetry of the inputted graphics on respective symmetry axis candidates calculated by a symmetry axis candidate calculation means 22. A symmetry axis center calculation means 24 selects the symmetry axes where the intersection points of the symmetry axes exist in almost the same positions among the symmetry axes judged to have symmetry, and calculates the center of the symmetry axes from the intersection point. An axial angle deciding means 25 rearranges the symmetry axes selected to that they have equal angles around the center of the symmetry axes. A center-feature point distance calculation means 26 calculates a distance between respective feature points and the center of the symmetry axis. A feature point group calculation means 27 collects the feature points that the calculated distances are almost matched and sets them into one or plural feature point groups. A feature point calculation means 28 rearranges the feature points belonging to the feature point groups so as to become in axial symmetry symmetry on the whole symmetry axes.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
