The column (1) has a flexible flank with a band (8) and units for fixation of free end edges of the flank oriented along an axial extension. The units are along an edge zone of one of the ends corresponding to free edges of adjacent flaps (4, 6) of the column. The flank is woundable along a direction orthogonal to the extension to transport the flank that has symmetry axes parallel to the direction and an extension axis (A), respectively. The axes support a flank cut along the direction to axially and extemporarily adjust the height of the column in a vertical station on an installation site.
