PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus requiring a minimum space for sterilizing cartons and breaking score lines on upright walls of the cartons. ;CONSTITUTION: An apparatus is provided with a spray head 32 mounted to move vertically into a carton 10 through the top on a conveyor 24, and a score line breaking assembly mounted to move vertically toward the top of the carton 10 and having a breaker member at a position to be engaged with a wall of the carton 10 at the top closing portion. The spray head 32 has a driver device which is mounted at the center of the breaker member, movable vertically to the breaker member, downwards the spray head 32 and the breaker member together and downwards the breaker member while keeping the spray head 32 static.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
