PURPOSE:To generate arcs of various wavelengths by simple switching operations by installing a switch means which moves plural number of carbon electrode bars to a voltage charging portion and a sending means which moves the carbon electrode bars to the sending direction and the returning direction at the site of voltage charging portion. CONSTITUTION:When a rotating shaft 34 of a pair of switching means provided with plural pairs of carbon electrode bars 13 which generate arcs of various wavelength is rotated, a switching drum 33 is rotated, with rotation of a slider 21 impacted into a supportive shaft 31 of the appropriate drum 33. When the slider 21 fixed with a given carbon electrode bag 13 at the site of voltage charging portion 42 of a sending bag 40 attached on the circumference of a switching drum 33 comes rotating, rotating movement of the drum 33 is stopped. Then, when a sending screw bar 41 is rotated, voltage is charged since the voltage charging portion 42 of a sending bag 40 comes to be contacted to a slider 21, and moreover the slider 21 moves towards the sending direction along the supporting shaft 31 to generate arc after approximation of tips of a pair of carbon electrode bars. At this time, the slider 21 is sent to the returning direction by contraction which occurs in correlation with movements of the slider 21 when, possible due to contraction of outward applied spring body 30.
