Covering and protection element for the roof of residential buildings, applicable on the ridge 8 of the roof. Element comprising a piece with T section 15 adaptable and fixable on the ridge 8 of the roof and suitable for sustaining tiles, bent tiles 24 and the same, shaped with a central body 16 perforated for ventilation and with side extensions 17, 18, as well as with a stem 20 for holding the ridge support structure. The side extensions 17, 18 incorporate metal material such as lead 25, 26, corrugated so as to be able to be appropriately adapted to the roof surface, thereby creating protection against water penetrating under the roof.
