The invention concerns a mounting frame (4) for fitted appliances in control and work desks, the mounting frame comprising an upper and a lower longitudinal bar (6, 8) and a left-hand and a right-hand crossbar (10, 12). Cross-struts (14a, 14b) with fittings (60) for holding appliance-support plates extend parallel to the crossbars (10, 12) inside the mounting frame. According to the invention, in order to be able to vary the position of the cross-struts (14a, 14b) in the longitudinal direction of the longitudinal bars (6, 8) according to a defined grid pattern, mounting slots (40), in which the end sections of the cross-struts (14a, 14b) fit in interlocking manner, are provided in the opposite sides of the longitudinal bars (6, 8). The cross-struts can be inserted from above into the longitudinal bars (6, 8), which take the form of U-shaped profiled rails, the cross-struts being secured by closure plates screwed onto the longitudinal bars.
