LIGHT EFFECTS GENERATOR AND METHOD OF PRODUCING LIGHT EFFECTS

Apparatus for creating light effects comprises at least one light source and means associated with the light source or sources for varying the wavelength or wavelenghts of light from the source and/or for exposing or covering all or part of the light source or sources so that the light received at a surface to be illuminated and which has portions that are receptive to different wavelenghts or which reacts differently to different wavelengths is illuminated by light, the wavelength of which varies continuously or periodically whereby from time to time different portions of the surface are revealed and/or portions of the surface are revealed differently. The invention also includes a method for the generation of a variety of light effects from a light source or sources wherein light of different wavelengths is used to illuminate a surface having areas that are varyingly reactive to light of different wavelengths and continuously or periodically varying the wavelength of the light received by the surface whereby from time to time different portions of the surface are revealed and/or portions of the surface are revealed differently.
