Intestinal ultrasound probe for trans-intestinal diagnosis in birds, reptiles and/or small mammals

The ultrasound head (2) integrated at the distal end of the support and insertion part (1) has a flattened formation running parallel to its longitudinal axis, on which in a rectangular basic form piezo-crystals are applied. In the support and insertion part, a catheter (3) for a guide wire and/or a flushing fluid is provided for trans-intestinal usage of the probe. The ultrasound head is fitted with pref. 100 piezo-crystals and has a length of pref. 15 mm together with a width of approx. 2 mm. It is provided with a customary ultrasound-permeable protective layer. The piezo-crystals are suitable for a frequency range of pref. 10 MHz and the catheter has an internal dia. of pref. 0.9 mm.
