The winding table is used to hold and rotate a round bale (10) of rubbish, while it is being wrapped in a sheet. It has an endless element (11) which can be driven, and which has a resting surface for supporting the bale. At least one supporting element (20,21) is arranged below this surface, and is able to move. The surface has a shape which is like that of a trough, and which can be controlled. Rollers are arranged at distances from one another, and also can be moved in order to form a trough-shaped resting surface. The endless element may be a belt which is mounted on at least two rollers (12,13), of which one or more can be driven. The supporting element may also be a roller which can be raised and lowered.
