The present invention relates to a cross-linked polymer foam composition and a process for its preparation. The composition is made from a copolymer of at least one alpha-unsaturated C3 to C20 olefin monomer and the polymerized essential linear ethylene. The copolymer has a resin density in the range of about 0.86 g / cm3 to 0.96 g / cm3, a melt index of about 0.5 dg / min to 100 dg / min, a molecular weight distribution in the range of about 1.5 to 3.5 and a composition distribution index . The composition exhibits improved physical properties in terms of strength, texture, flexibility and heat resistance as compared with conventional low density polyethylene compositions, and exhibits superior workability to linear low density polyethylene.;mj / 50 ~ 25
