METHOD OF PRODUCING ALKYL-TERT-ALKYL ETHERS IN MIXTURE WITH HYDROCARBONS

FIELD: industrial organic syntheses; gasoline production. SUBSTANCE: alkyl-tert-alkyl ethers useful as anti-knock oxygen-containing gasoline components are produced in mixture with hydrocarbons via contacting alcohols and hydrocarbon mixtures containing tertiary olefins with acidic heterogeneous catalysts, primarily in at least two direct-flow reaction zones and then in reaction-rectification apparatus. Process is carried out at 40-100 C and, in the last direct-flow reaction zone temperature is maintained by 20-50 C below that in the first direct-flow zone, advantageously 40-60 C, whereas, in the reaction-rectification apparatus, pressure and temperature are such as to provide predetermined concentration of tertiary olefins in liquid phase in the reaction zone. Alkyl-tert- alkyl ethers or their mixtures with hydrocarbons are discharged from the bottom part of apparatus and lighter hydrocarbon are withdrawn from its top part.
