METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EVALUATING VIABILITY OF TISSUES OF BIOLOGICAL OBJECTS

FIELD: experimental biology and physiology. SUBSTANCE: super-high frequency signal is applied to tissue under test, followed by recording reflected signal. Both signals are compared, and reflection factor and phase difference of both signals are recorded. Phase difference serves as indicator of tissue viability, whereas reflection factor indicates dynamic aspect of viability index variations. Proposed apparatus comprises super-high frequency generator, power divider, two modulators, funnel-shaped radiator, reflected signal processing unit, and display unit for displaying parameters thus- obtained. When phase difference between reflected signal and super-high frequency signal applied to tissue under test decreases, conclusion is drawn as to increased viability of this tissue, and this conclusion is convincingly confirmed by increase in reflection factor.
