The invention relates to a process for feeding studs and ceramic rings to a stud welding head. A stud and ceramic rings are arranged before the feed operation in a magazine, each stud being held in the magazine with its own fitted ceramic ring. The stud welding head, which has a pick-up element for a ceramic ring and a pick-up element for a stud, is moved towards a pre-selected stud with its fitted ceramic ring. The stud and ceramic ring are then picked up by the appropriate pick-up element by a motion of the entire stud welding head and/or of the pick-up element(s). The invention also relates to a magazine and a stud welding head for applying the proposed method.
