Wood-splitting machine with bench and chopper blade

The chopper blade (4) is hydraulically or pneumatically movable towards the chopper bench. A finger-shield enables the operator to work with both hands and comprises two control elements (6) with electronic control for restricting pressure. The two control elements are spaced apart on the chopping bench (2) by the width of the a hand. When only one of the two control elements is operated, the chopper blade can be moved at a pressure of up to a pre-set maximum amount, to hold the piece of wood for chopping in a required position. The chopper blade is driven at a pressure of over the maximum amount, with both control elements being simultaneously and continuously operated.
